Nothing could be finer than to be in Carolina in the summertime!

Had a great road trip through North and South Carolina this month, starting in Greenville, SC . . . a charming, funky coffee house, Coffee Underground, where a fabulous indie, Fiction Addiction, hosted me for a tea.  Thanks to cousins for showing up, too — that was a wonderful treat!  Looking forward to seeing Jill Hendrix, Fiction Addiction owner, and Kathy of the BermudaOnion blog at SIBA next month.  (Also, Meg Medina — looking forward to seeing you again!)

Kami Kinard, author of the upcoming, THE BOY PROJECT, hosted me for several events in Beaufort, SC, along with Beaufort Middle School.  Thanks to all teachers, staff, students, parents and members of the public for your interest and questions!  Also got time to see the water (and be ON the water) and experience the beautiful community of St. Helena Island (saving those photos for a separate post to come).

In Chapel Hill, NC, I hung out at Foster’s Market (yum!) and had a little quiet time to work on my brand new novel (what a treat!) before popping next door to Flyleaf Books for my talk and signing.  So many bright young girls there — thank you for coming!  And parents for bringing them!

There are still stalwart indies out there who serve us well . . . it’s a great weekend to go out and buy a book at an indie, don’t you think?  In North Carolina, South Carolina, or wherever you live.  Enjoy!

  1. Wish I’d known you were gonna be in SC. I’m living in Charleston right now, but am from SC and have tons of friends in Greenville I could have sent your way. See you in C’Ville sooon!

  2. you were one busy lady! Glad it went well and that NC/SC wasn’t too hot for you!

  3. Hmmmm. I’m thinking it might have been a little finer here if it had been ten degrees cooler. It was a great visit Kathy!
