Tammi’s book Mostly Monsterly won the 2011 SCBWI Crystal Kite Award for the Texas & Oklahoma region, and won the 2011 Oklahoma Book Award. It has also been named a 2010 Scholastic Parent & Child Best Book of the Year. Congratulations, Tammi! Mostly Monsterly is about Bernadette, who is mostly monsterly but underneath the fangs and fur she has a deep…dark…secret. She has (gasp!) a sweet side. And now for more about Tammi:

Tammi: Tea. Blackberry Jasmine. Mmmm.
Q: What’s always in your fridge?

Q: Flats or heels?
Tammi: Embarrassingly low heel.

Orrr…if I happened to be alone…a good book, a cozy blanket, take-out, and the couch.
Q: Favorite sport or form of exercise?
Tammi: I love to ski.
Q: Language in which you’d most like to be fluent.
Q: Some favorite books?
Tammi: My absolute favorite picture book of 2011 is A Pet for Petunia by Paul Schmid. Everyone on the planet should have a copy. It should be a rule.
Children’s book author Tammi Sauer has sold nine picture books to a number of major publishing houses: Bloomsbury, Houghton Mifflin Harcourt, Simon & Schuster, and Sterling. In addition to writing, Tammi loves to visit schools, read, ski, spend time with family and friends, go to the movies, and eat out as often as possible. What is more, she is hopelessly addicted to checking her email. Tammi and her family live in Edmond, Oklahoma, with way too many pets. To learn more about Tammi, please visit www.tammisauer.com.
