Welcome to Guahan!

Hafa Adai!  That’s the greeting, sort of like Aloha, in the Chamorro language of the culture here on Guam, or as it’s properly written in the Chamorro language, Guahan.

This is the view from my hotel balcony.  Really.  I’m here courtesy of the Guam chapter of the International Reading Association.  I spoke at their conference yesterday and have workshops and school visits this coming week.  It is fabulous here!  The people are as warm and sunny as the weather and as beautiful as the geography.  More info and stories to come but right now, I’m heading off snorkeling!

Wishing everyone warmth,
