Fairhope, AL

Page & Palette — a beautiful store in equally beautiful Fairhope, AL.

I didn’t realize it was founded as a utopian community, one of the few that still remains.  This trip is all about connections, it seems, and here’s another:  I realized that I know the daughter-in-law of someone who was born here and whose books were facing my signing table. Cool!

Went to Big Daddy’s Grill, right on the water for boats to dock, and huge sandpits for kids to play in.  GREAT catfish!  I was so tempted to try the mysteriously titled “chocolate something” on the dessert menu but, sadly, I was too full (even for chocolate — ack!).
